Sri Ramana Maharshi was an Indian saint and guru of Advaita Vedanta. He reached enlightenment at the age of 16, after which he left home and went to Arunachala Mountain, where he spent the rest of his life in peace and calmness. Arunachala is a sacred Shiva mountain which literally means 'infinite pillar of light'. Maharshi's divine appearance radiates compassion and inner peace.
I was inspired to paint this after visiting Tiruvannamalai and the Sri Ramana Ashram in 2022.
